Introduction to Veterinary Medical Acupuncture, Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, $2,500.

Introduction to Veterinary Medical Acupuncture is the first course in CRI's new Certified Veterinary Acupuncture Therapist certification program. For more details about the complete certification program, please see the Acupuncture Program overview page.

Prerequisites: This 3-day course is open to licensed veterinarians only.

This course has 3 classroom days and 16 additional hours of online coursework that must be completed before the first day of class.
Registered students:
Your online coursework hours will be accessed through our Online Coursework page. During the two months before your class, visit the Online Coursework page and log in to the online coursework area for this class. A password to access online coursework will be emailed to you 60 days before the start of class. Approximately half of the online coursework will be available 60 days before the start of class, and the remaining coursework will be available 30 days before the start of class.

Course Description: Introduction to Veterinary Medical Acupuncture provides students with 16 hours of pre-course online videos, which will teach the anatomy of the major points, to include neurological, musculoskeletal, fascial, and lymphatic structures associated with each. The live sessions will teach the basics of needling and electrical stimulation to allow therapists to immediately start treating patients to build their skill base as they progress through more advanced modules, and acquire case logs for upcoming sessions.

Class size is limited to 20 students, with five faculty members on site.

Course Fee: $2,500. CCRTs are eligible to receive a 10% discount on the October 5-7, 2018 class. This discount will be applied to the tuition balance due 90 days before the start of the course. This discount is only available the first time this course is offered.

  • Point finding on live dogs
  • Palpating tissue-feel: Muscle, fascia
  • Electrical stimulation in acupuncture practice
  • Local, segmental and distal combinations
  • Case studies

Classes are held each day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm each day at our Wheat Ridge, Colorado location. There is a 1-hour break for lunch. Registered students: Please watch for specific emails about each class as there may be occasional minor changes to class times.
